Absinthe Tincture
Artemisia Absinthium
Description
Product Description Artemisia Absinthe Tincture
Latin name: 'Artemisia absinthium'. The Artemisia absinthe (Absinthe wormwood) is related to the Artemisia annua; called mugwort. Considered the mother of all herbs. Native to Europe, Asia, and North Africa. The plant grows 60-120 cm tall and blooms with light yellow flowers. The buds are the ones that possess beneficial properties.
Wormwood is a grayish-green shrub with a bittersweet scent. The Romans burned the plant as incense. Sprinkled on the ground, it repelled insects. In the 18th century, the essential oil was used in distilling a highly addictive liqueur and was banned for a long time. Since 2005, it has been permitted again as an aperitif.
Green Vitality explicitly does not sell Artemisia absinthium as a food, dietary supplement, or herbal preparation. Artemisia absinthium is a Novel Food. This means it is not permitted for internal use within the EU. However, it is currently permitted for sale as a flavoring or as an external tick-repellent fragrance. Artemisia absinthium can also be used externally to treat tick bites and as a soil conditioner.
